First Gratitude, Then Greatness

November 26, 2014

When historians are asked to rank the Presidents, they usually place Lincoln first, followed by Washington and FDR in either order.  All three Presidents led during times of difficult transition.  Because of their leadership many of their initiatives have lasted until the present day.  So it should not be surprising to note that they each had a hand in making Thanksgiving a national holiday which the United States celebrates the fourth Thursday of November.

All three Presidents readily admitted their reliance on a Higher Power.  It was only natural for them to acknowledge their debt to Almighty God and to encourage the people to join them in giving thanks.

Let us honor their memory by joining together in Thanksgiving.
