Moral Courage

Martin Luther King, Sr. had intended to vote for the Republican presidential candidate in 1960, but after his son was arrested that October in Atlanta, something happened which changed his mind.  Democrat John F. Kennedy had called the incarcerated civil rights leader’s wife and offered his support.  The elder King remarked:  “Jack Kennedy has the moral courage to stand up for what he knows is right.”
