The P-Word

April 29, 2013

On June 6, 1944 President Franklin Delano Roosevelt used the P-word on national radio.  Near the beginning of his brief address he mentioned the D-Day invasion, and said: “It has come to pass with success thus far.”  Then he referred to “this poignant hour.”  Then he asked his listeners “to join with me in prayer.”  Then he read an original prayer which can be heard at http://archive.org/details/FdrsPrayerOnD-dayJune61944.
